Thai and Banang are two elderly elephants who are being kept in chains at the Hanoi public zoo in Vietnam. The treatment of these two elephants has drawn outrage in Vietnam, with animal rights groups demanding that the pair be relocated to a national park. Close to 70,000 people have signed an online petition in support of their release.^[1]
