The Unlawful Gambling Amendment (Betting on Animals) Bill 2023 is a proposed legislation in New South Wales, Australia, that aims to ban gambling on activities involving live animals, such as greyhound racing, harness racing, horse racing, and jumps racing.[1] The bill was introduced by the Hon Emma Hurst, MLC, a member of the Animal Justice Party, on 22 November 2023.

The bill would amend the Unlawful Gambling Act 1998 to create two new offences: one for a person who gambles on an activity involving a live animal, and another for a licensed bookmaker who carries on bookmaking for such an activity.
