That's where Newshound comes in! Newshound is your guide through this information jungle. Our mission is to filter through the noise, curate the most relevant and interesting animal news, and present it to you in more manageable chunks.
What is Newshound?
Newshound is an Really Simple Syndication (RSS) retrieval platform that aggregates animal related content from various sources using RSS feeds. You can then access Newshound in a centralized location to view and stay updated on news and articles from different websites. Newshound algorithms attempt to ensure that you receive timely updates while trying to avoid overwhelming you with irrelevant information.

Our Commitment to Accuracy
At Newshound, we are committed to delivering accurate and reliable animal news to you. However, we understand that no system is perfect, and occasionally, we may retrieve non-animal related news. We want to be transparent about this aspect of our service and assure you that we are constantly working to improve our algorithms to minimize such occurrences. There may be cases where eliminating some retrieval errors completely is impossible because of websites adding dynamically changing related stories to their pages. Newshound may pick up on these links and assume it is a relevant story.

Discovering information about specific animals or topics is made easy with Newshound's search function. At the top of the Newshound page you can search for details about a particular species or want to delve into specific animal-related topics.

Feed Sources
Most feeds are generated by Google searches but some are direct from an organization's website. The availability of these direct feeds is contingent upon the presence of an RSS feed on the respective organization's website. No preference is given to any organisation if their website does not have a RSS feed the organisation cannot be added.
Many sites have stopped using RSS feeds because social media platforms have become dominant in content distribution, and this shift has had an impact on the usage of traditional RSS feeds. Despite these trends, RSS continues to have its advantages, especially for users who prefer a more direct content consumption experience (and without ads!).
