Project Chee

tah is an initiative by the Indian government to restore the extinct cheetah back to India where they became extinct in the 1950s due to hunting and habitat loss.[1] The project aims to restore the ecological balance and functionality of India's grasslands, which are home to many endangered and endemic species and provide vital ecosystem services.
