Loro Parque is a 13.5-hectare zoo located on the outskirts of Puerto de la Cruz on Tenerife, Spain. It was founded in 1972 by Wolfgang Kiessling, a German businessman. The park started with 150 parrots and soon expanded to include other animals such as dolphins, orcas, penguins and chimpanzees.
