Old Thom is an orca who is seen every few years around the Bay of Fundy. He has a distinctive notch on his dorsal fin.
Old Thom is known to hang out with a pod of dolphins. He is never seen with other whales. This behavior is not typical for killer whales, which usually travel in pods with their own species. Old Thom is a large bull orca, and is estimated to be 25 to 30 feet long, with an estimated weight of 8 tons.
