Elephant Ethogram

From WikiAnimal

The Elephant Ethogram serves as an extensive catalogue of behavior and communication among African savanna elephants.[1] Compiled from decades of behavioral studies, photographs, and audiovisual recordings, this ethogram meticulously documents the gestural and acoustic "language" as well as the behavioral patterns of elephants.[1] Started by Joyce Poole and continued by other researchers after her death, the project aims to preserve the intricate behaviors of elephants and contribute to a deeper understanding of their social interactions and ecological roles.
