The Wildlife Management and Muirburn (Scotland) Bill is a piece of legislation currently making its way through the Scottish Parliament. The Bill aims to change the rules around how people can capture and kill certain wild birds and wild animals, as well as the making of muirburn (the controlled burning of heather and other plants for land management purposes).

The Bill proposes to make it a requirement for anyone who wants to allow grouse shooting or carry out muirburn on their land to have a license to do so. It also proposes licensing requirements for the use of wildlife traps and an outright ban on the use of glue traps.
