World Elephant Day

World Elephant Day is an international annual event on August 12. It is dedicated to the preservation and protection of the world’s elephants. The day was created to encourage people to learn more about elephants and to promote their protection in the wild. On August 12, World Elephant Day asks you to help conserve and protect elephants from the numerous threats they face.

On August 12, 2012, the inaugural World Elephant Day was launched to bring attention to the urgent plight of Asian and African elephants.
