Mara & Baby
Mara & Baby are female Asian elephants captive at Zoo Park, a roadside zoo in Slovakia.
Mara was captured from the wild (unknown location) in 1973 and transferred to a circus in Spain (Circo Aleman Berlin). Subsequently she was transferred to the Christian & Alex Gärtner Elephant Show (circus) in Croatia.
Baby was born in July 1981 at Circus Quaiser in Germany to parents Bosco (father) and Benga (mother)[1] before being transferred to the Christian & Alex Gärtner Elephant Show (circus) in Croatia.
Mara & Baby were then transferred to Zoo Park in Slovakia when Croatia banned the use of wild animals in circuses.[2]
