An Elephant Never Forgets (video)

Summary

An Elephant Never Forgets is an animation narrated by Dame Joanna Lumley and Foi Wambui that reflects on the life and death of Pole Pole, an elephant who was captured from the wild and sent to London Zoo in 1969.

The animation shows how Pole Pole was separated from her family and suffered from loneliness, stress, and illness in captivity. She died in 1983 after a failed attempt to relocate her to Whipsnade Zoo.

It is part of a campaign by Born Free Foundation and ElephantVoices to raise awareness and funds for elephant conservation and welfare. The campaign aims to end the exploitation of elephants in zoos, circuses, and tourism.
