Chi was female orca captured on February 26, 1979 in Taiji, Japan along with 5 other orcas. Chi was immediately transferred to the Taiji Whaling Museum with two others; Benkei and Tai.
In June 1979, Chi died due to unknown causes after only 4 months in captivity.
