In April 1969 in Carr Inlet, 11 orcas were captured. However, only 2 were kept. One was a large bull orca, later known as Ramu II.
Not long after his capture, Ramu II was put in a sling and sent on a grueling journey to Marineland Australia. Once he arrived, he became the star attraction at the park.
On May 21, 1970, Ramu II died of unknown causes after only a year of living in captivity.
