Pignorant is a 2023 documentary film by Joey Carbstrong that highlights the use of carbon dioxide () as a method to stun pigs prior to slaughter. The film includes undercover footage from the Pilgrim’s Pride abattoir in Ashton-under-Lyne in north-west England taken in February 2021.

The footage shows pigs being herded into metal gondolas in groups, lowered into a chamber and subjected to a high concentration of carbon dioxide gas. Pigs are seen shrieking, gasping, and writhing in apparent pain and distress.[1]
