Date of capture: July 1979
Age at capture: Approx. 1 year
Sometime in July of 1979, a lone male Orca was captured off the west coast of Iceland. He was then transferred to the Hafnarfjordur Aquarium where he underwent basic training whilst waiting to be purchased. He was later named Dzul-ha, but was also sometimes known as Shamu. During his stay at the Aquarium, it is possible that he met Keiko, Kiska, King, Caren, as well as an unnamed whale.
Three months after his capture, he had to be moved to the Florida Delphin Show in Mannheim, Germany, as the Hafnarfjordur Aquarium had taken in more captures and had limited space.
Later on, he was transferred to Connyland; an amusement park located in Switzerland. He spent a total of 1 year at the park before his final transfer to Aquarama on Parade, a traveling circus.
Based in Isla Mujeres, Mexico, Dzul-ha performed shows in the Argentinian cities Mar del Plata as well as Buenos Aires along side other cetaceans and sea lions.
In 1983, at least a year or more after arriving to perform with the circus, Dzul-ha died. The cause or exact date of death have never been released.
